Congratulations on your decision to attend 威尼斯人平台! 

We are excited to welcome you, 还有你的父母, 家庭, and guests to the 资本 Family – and it all starts with Summer 取向. Summer 取向 is an important time to really get your 资本 career started off smoothly. You will register for classes, learn more about academic and graduation requirements (yes, already!), experience ways to get involved on campus, and more. You will also receive and set up your  项目靛蓝! iPad和苹果铅笔. We’ll take care of your breakfast and lunch and making sure you get all the information you need. We are excited to get to know you!

暑期迎新清单

Before attending your summer orientation date, you will need to complete all the tasks (outlined below) in your Summer 取向 Checklist. The Summer 取向 Checklist opens annually for deposited students in March.

SELECT 夏天取向 DATE

在夏季迎新会上, you will finalize your Fall 2023 schedule, meet other incoming students as well as current students, 教师, and staff… all while learning a ton more about campus! Summer 取向 dates are below. Summer 取向 runs 9am – 5pm, so plan on spending the whole day with us. We have special programming for parents, 家庭, 客人们也一样, so feel free to bring them along with you!

You can choose from these dates:

  • 6月13日星期二
  • 6月15日星期四
  • 6月21日星期三
  • 7月13日星期四

Transfer students can join the following date designed specifically for them:

  • 7月12日星期三

All students will use Math and 英语 placement tools to help assess the best courses for you to enroll in for fall semester. 这些不是为了分数, and you should not use the internet, 我的一个朋友, or a family member for assistance. Do the best of you can and that will help us help you build a great schedule. Students who have taken French, 德国, Russian or Spanish should plan to take the language placement tool, even if your major does not have a language requirement – world languages make great minors and you never know what the requirements will be if you change your major.

HOUSING APPLICATION OR HOUSING RELEASE FORM

Living on campus can be an integral part of your experience at 威尼斯人平台. All undergraduate students must reside on campus unless they meet the criteria for a 住房 release. 住宅 students will apply for 住房 through the Housing Application. 学生住在 学生宿舍 还必须购买一个 膳食计划. Students who live within a 30-mile radius are able to commute from their home address. Commuter students are welcome and encouraged to purchase a 膳食计划. All students planning to commute must complete the Housing Release Request Form. Preferred deadline for completing the Housing Application or Release Form is June 15.

UPLOAD PHOTO FOR CAPITAL STUDENT ID

Your Student ID is a vital part of your day-to-day life on campus. It serves as the key to your residence hall and other campus buildings, 你的饮食计划, 还有你的COTA公交卡. It also works like a debit card when you use your CapBucks at different restaurants on Main Street. You will receive your ID when you come to campus for 受欢迎的周末 in August.

HEALTH AND IMMUNIZATION FORMS

You must return the New Student Health Information and Immunization Form before the first day of classes. The required immunizations are:

  • 破伤风
  • 白喉
  • Pertussis; within the last ten years
  • 麻疹
  • 流行性腮腺炎
  • 风疹:两次免疫接种
  • Polio: completed primary series
  • 新型冠状病毒肺炎

可及性服务

威尼斯人平台 welcomes individuals with disabilities to be an integral part of the university community. 可及性服务 (AS) provides individualized services for students with disability related needs. WELCOME WEEKEND AND START OF CLASSES

受欢迎的周末 is a jam-packed weekend designed to get you ready for the start of classes. You will meet returning and new students, 教职员工, get familiar with campus and Columbus, and maybe even get hypnotized! Attendance is mandatory for all new students. 受欢迎的周末 begins on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Classes begin the following Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
